The Suffolk Punch Trust visitor centre 18:05 - Oct 14 with 641 viewsLegendofthePhoenix

Went here for the first time today. Took the ageing parents, who rode in a golf buggy for the tour. What a great place. Lovely weather and some really beautiful animals, knowledgeable staff who can tell you everything you wanted to know about Suffolk Punches. Did you know a Stallion can only be up to a max of 18 hands, but preferably 15-16? Otherwise they , err, become a Gelding (cough). And they have to be one of 7 shades of chesnut. Not chestnut. Well worth a visit.

It's great seeing those magnificent animals close up. Powerful beasts! Do they still have the inmates from Hollesley helping out?

I think they do, as its a charity and they run on a shoestring, but I don't think I met any today. Apparently Hollesley inmates also do jobs in Woodbridge town centre. Quite a cushy number for them!

That’s no way to talk about Phoenix’s parents!

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
