They're flamin awful - always placed in the exact same spot as the score & time elapsed when showing football, ie top left of screen; and the exact same spot as the names & parties of panellists on QT - ie bottom left of screen.

So if you come in late you remain in the dark & have to pray for a gap in the talking at exactly the right moment

Having suffered the ITV commentary and chosen to have their subtitles during the England game yesterday I am not going to find too much fault with the BBC ones - and a feature that the iPlayer has that ITV does not is a choice of five subtitle text sizes. If your visual acuity is up to it then a smaller text obscures much less of the screen.

Rarely watch on iPlayer (comparatively slow 'net speed) - but thanks for if/when I do :)
