Very sporting to agree to call it off. As McKenna said it became a lottery, and at 1-1 with 15 minutes left it was very much in their favour to continue it.

Agree. Don't know the exact laws but if it had ended a draw would there be a case for the game to be replayed seeing as the game went on because the ref essentially forced it to continue by telling the managers a non-existent rule?

You could argue the conditions denied the teams a fair chance of winning as the ball could hardly be seen. Obviously a moot point as Oxford aren't going to give up the 3 points but would be an interesting situation had it finished level.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Agree. There must be grounds for an appeal to the Football League to have the match replayed if it only continued because the referee applied a non existent rule. Anything that happened after that unlawful decision should be void. I'm not convinced that ITFC are wiling to challenge this however in the way that many other clubs would. We just seem to accept poor officials and the consequences of their actions as something to moan about and feel hard done by. Imagine if we miss promotion/play offs by 1 or 3 points if we didn't at least attempt an appeal.

How sad that we are crying about “made up rules” because we bottled yet another game.

The state of this club really is heart breaking.
