20 Games into the season, stat review by TalkingBlues 3 Dec 2022 12:07
First 10 games = 6Wins 3Draws 1Loss - Goals For 19 Goals against 8

Next 10 games = 6Wins 3Draws 1Loss - Goals for 20 Goals against 12

Consistency is key to escaping the league and it's hard to argue the overall numbers at this stage.

Drilling down a bit, the way I would describe our current situation, is that it's getting harder to maintain the consistency. The draws in our first 10 games were spread out fairly evenly across fixtures, but we have now drawn 3 of our last 4 games and have conceded 6 goals in the process.

****PLEASE NOTE - LEAGUE GAMES ONLY****

1 - 10 -------- 10 games = 6Wins 3Draws 1Loss - Goals For 19 Goals against 8 = Pts 21

11 - 20--------10 games = 6Wins 3Draws 1Loss - Goals for 20 Goals against 12 = Pts 21

21 - 30--------10 games = 3 Wins 5 Draws 2 losses - Goals for 17 Goals against 11 = Pts 14

As per review at 20 games, it appeared that it was getting harder for us to maintain consistent form and indeed that manifested into a considerably poorer run and return of points in our next set of 10 games (overall, form has been inconsistent for the last 14/15 games, 4 wins from last 14 matches).

**LEAGUE GAMES ONLY**

Poll: Is it wrong to take more pleasure from seeing Germany lose, than England win

By 1/3's of the season:

First third = 15 games - 10 wins 3 draws 2 losses - Goals for 28 Goals against 12 Pts = 33

Second third = 15 games - 5 wins 8 draws 2 losses - Goals for 28 Goals against 19 Pts = 23

In terms of what points we are likely to end up with at the end of the season, it's impossible to say of course, but if we were to try and predict based on what we have actually produced this season so far, then an optimistic view would suggest we could gain 32 points from the remaining fixtures giving us a total of 88 points. A less optimistic view (based on current form) suggests 20 points from those games, giving a final points tally of 76.

The expected range based on seasons form so far is between 76 and 88 points.
