The old “transfer list” was really just a big memo faxed across all the clubs by the FA. Some clubs would put that out in the press too, so Joe Public became aware.
Very few players officially request a transfer these days as they forego things like contract bonuses if they do, so the official transfer list has become a bit obsolete. | | | |
