It looks like some kind of modernist statue to me. All the players and the ball are sort of connected at six points with open space between them (if you ignore the focal differences).



I think the steward in yellow between 24's legs in 'The Thinker' pose, might be saying to himself "I've known louder crowds at the Tate Modern. And more dynamic football."
