Can I encourage you to email your school and ask them why they have not applied the DfE's statutory guidance on costs of school wear. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/cost-of-school-uniforms/cost-of-schoo Long story short, they shouldn't be making such branded items compulsory, when supermarkets can supply at a much better price point. And schools should have been applying this guidance from December last year. Ours haven't even advised us that this exists. It's not often this government works for us, so when they do, we should make sure we get the benefit. I'm all for kids having to wear school uniform, but £26 for ONE pair of trousers and £20 for ONE shirt, someone is skimming some cream off the top aren't they? |  |
