Random thoughts from a returning poster… 16:16 - May 20 with 685 views | IndependentlyBlue | Sometimes the stars align and everything seems to go right and a virtual circle is formed. Perhaps events at Portman Road at present is an illustration of that. Perhaps when Palace came calling it gave both KMcK and the club pause for thought. It gave KMcK a chance to bargain and outline what he needed to get ITFC into the PL and for the club to agree to that and tie him to a longer contract to achieve those aims. Perhaps KMcK, being the person of high integrity that he is, now wants to fulfil on that. Perhaps the club, knowing his loyalty, don’t feel the need to make any comment on the current speculation. I know there’s a lot of perhapses there but it wouldn’t surprise me if at least some of it is true. The more we learn about KMcK and read about him he seems to be very loyal and have huge integrity. Maybe making myself a hostage to fortune with this but can’t see him going anywhere at the moment. | |

Random thoughts from a returning poster… on 19:22 - May 20 with 490 views | Hugoagogo_Reborn | I've long felt that any successful manager must have several external factors contributing to make a success "the magic formula" (i.e. good board, good infrastructure,.good squad, etc), but you can have all of those external factors and give them to a poor manager and any success will be temporary, at best - irrelevant, at worst. Now, McKenna seems not just to be a good manager, but a potentially great manager. If he stays next season, we.will find out, because he has an immensely difficult task ahead of him. All of the skills and clever signings he has demonstrated thus far need to be executed to near perfection next season. There are plenty of great managers out there who have done brilliantly for a few seasons but lost the magic formula. It really is about keeping your stock high in the managerial game. I sense McKenna has a keen sense of his stock level, too. But there are also different types of managers, like players. Some are journeymen, some are project leaders. I have every confidence that McK can deliver next season, if he stays. He has proven himself to be a project leader. I hope he decides to stay as such with ITFC. [Post edited 20 May 2024 19:24]
