Nice little article about Anderson here and they also mention Clyde Best. Best was my earliest memory of seeing a black footballer in Britain. I can't imagine what Best had to go through especially being the first.

Although I have always been Ipswich, as a kid, I used to like watching Clyde Best on the telly highlights.
He was the first footballer I really admired, but then along came The Beat!
