Imo we do have a squad of some excellent individuals that are on their own development paths but at differe t stages and it doesn't quite work as a team at this moment in time for obvious reasons and possibly the reason this season is one to far.
But today and previous games I think does show off the individual talents we have. We do however miss that team cohesion which was always going to be the risk when you have to make substantial changes to a squad.
It's promising for the future as team work comes together over time. I just don't see it unfortunately being able to be achieved within the next few weeks.
Lots of promise for the future. Lots of talent. But the squad doesn't quite work as a unit across the pitch.
Delap for 43% of town goals being his.. his individual talents are at times not helpful to the town cause.. there were times he was trying to take on 3 or 4 players instead of simple sideway passes. Ones the likes of Hirst was doing last season to chappers who then would find hutch etc. I felt today we needed a hirst I think around 60 minutes. Enough time to come on and work with those around him.
Lots of promise for the future and whilst it's not all over yet and there's games a plenty left, I think its OK to look ahead now. We've given it a good go but I think we've really shown up the differences between the two leagues.
