Firstly, not losing has given me a lift! Seems very obviously we are a work in progress. We are a team not high on confidence after last seasons week in week out spankings, lost some big names and players gone, new players not yet fit and/or finding their feet, with obvious holes to fill in the squad, yet, thought we played ok second half. Looked sharper than the first, but that wasn’t entirely difficult, as thought we looked far too passive for the last half of the first half. Controlled the game much better second half. Quicker transitions down the flanks, and we looked miles more threatening. Akpom and cajuste still to get fit. Ogbene has had virtually a year out and will get better. Burns back October. I would imagine at least 2 high profile signings to be made, maybe 3. I don’t see us really clicking for another month. I see points against a brum team with massive impetuous and a saints team with a good squad and excellent young manager as ok. Glass half full for me. |  |
