Some really dynamic interceptions, never looked overly flustered, played a few clever short passes into the forwards in the second half and overall looked really tidy. Should be a real player when he gets fully up to speed.

Yep. Our MOTM by some distance I'd say.

From the radio and comments, it sounds like Azor is showing some green shoots? on 12:01 - Aug 24 with 1156 views | nrb1985 | Was v good. Won the ball back consistently - not quite Kante like but v similar traits. Rarely goes to ground, just tries to knick it off the opposition or intercept. One fantastic through ball to SS as well. Our MOTM by some distance.

Agree with that, looks an excellent signing.

It looks to me that his adjustment period has been hampered by that knock and once he's fitter and more atuned to the team he will be excellent. Even when he makes a mistake he fights to undo it, which is sorely lacking from the rest of the team.

Calling him a massive upgrade is unfair on Morsy. They do different things. As a midfield ratter and destroyer he looks quicker, sharper and more effective, certainly. He doesnt, so far, have the same calmness on the ball, willingness to take it in tight spots, or inclination to turn and drive. Which is fine if Cajuste takes some of those roles. They may come with time and confidence.

I’m sure we all hope having Cajuste along side that will help playing out from the back. But he’s really helping cover a lot of ground in a way we were not able to do before, he’s looking like the real deal at this level.

First time really yesterday he looked comfortable on the ball too and picked out a few nice passes. Brum & Saints were 2 tough games to come in to, I’m confident he’ll be a good addition and like the look of him. Taylor isn’t the one alongside him, Cajuste needs to get up to speed sharpish and we need an addition in there. ‘Front 4’ completely out of sorts yesterday, didn’t look at all cohesive and I’d extend that to Davis, don’t think it works with him behind a chalk on your boots winger and expecting him to come inside, much prefer our wide men to invert and let Davis go on the outside.

Agree, was a cracking first time through ball, which we could / should have scored from

Based on three games, one of which he had a bit of stinker in. Righto. On paper, he should outperform Morsy I agree given his pedigree. But based on one good game at Preston seems a stretch - unless you're basing it on the youtube highlights his agency probably put together?!

Yes it is, because he isnt. You are comparing apples and oranges. But you will not, for a single second, contemplate the possibility that your view requires a touch of nuance.

Completely agree that he’s an upgrade on Morsy. Just on pace alone. I think we’ll see more from his passing game as the season progresses.

He is. They are both exactly the same type of player except Matusiwa covers the ground better, wins the ball more often and is more forward thinking and accurate in his passing.

From the radio and comments, it sounds like Azor is showing some green shoots? on 13:55 - Aug 24 with 354 views | Tractor_Boy333 | In only 3 games we’ve seen big improvements from him. I still wish we’d play 3 in midfield on occasions, over last 2 seasons we’ve had lots of games where we just get overrun in midfield. We do ask a lot of our 2 midfielders in this formation. Really hoping with another week we’ll see Cajuste start. I’ve never been a fan of Taylor and wouldn’t be upset to see him sold. He doesn’t seem to have improved. Not blaming him for all our troubles at present though. The whole team seems so low in confidence. Its early days and after the mauling we got last season hardly a surprise we’re still struggling. Hopefully a few extra players in and get a couple of ugly wins and it could all change very quickly.

Fair enough, let's hope you're right. His pedigree certainly suggests he has a higher ceiling. That said, "knowing my stuff" is highly subjective and not much of an endorsement. Would assume every single poster on here believes the same.
From the radio and comments, it sounds like Azor is showing some green shoots? on 14:20 - Aug 24 with 244 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I agree with the comments on here. I particularly recall that he broke up the break when Greaves lost the ball after his meander forward and losing the ball. I like the fact Greaves has driven forward with the ball from defence but he really needs to pass it effectively at the end rather than look lost!
