From my Blackburn ST holder colleague of many years
"You might have heard but the reason we get a lot of waterlogging is because the pitch drains into the river behind the aptly named Riverside Stand. but once the river reaches its peak level there's nowhere for the water to drain. been an issue for years that doesn't reflect very well on our ownership/management (quelle surprise) but not sure it's entirely the club's issue to solve
"I think that's the really frustrating thing seeing the games at Burnley and United play to a finish when the weather was just as bad there. I also think that's why the league won't take any pity on us here because they'll assume if other local teams - including those lower down the pyramid - could finish their games we should have been able to. I mean, even allowing for Blackburn being probably statistically one of the wettest places in the country and in a valley there's no excuse for the drainage when some non-league teams even managed to play to a finish" |  |

Blackburn seem to be having a Marcus Evans or worse era. Badly run club, diverting fans attention away from the fact they can't setup proper drainage and used to be a Premiership club but now struggle with this. Plus the various transfer sagas such as Sammy Smodich dragged out for 8 weeks, they are quite an odd club. Theres the haves and have nots in modern football, those with mega bucks in the Prem and those bumbling along like Blackburn. |  |
