| A few thoughts... 21:40 - Nov 25 with 174 views | Zx1988 | Yes we've not been at our best, and have been sloppy at times, but we've made Hull look incredibly ordinary. Even when we were creating nothing in the first half, they didn't have a great many clear cut efforts. Since the subs/goal, we looked so much better. The subs have to take some credit for that, but the goal probably helped. Hull had to adapt their gameplan, and couldn't just try and be solid and grab something on the break. Re the first goal - yes it came from a cross from open play, it all goes to show just how important set pieces are for us. We need that ability to launch the ball into an otherwise congested penalty area; earlier attempts to play down the middle or cut in were just being suffocated. This is a good result against a good team. Hull were unbeaten in six at home, have only had one home defeat all season, and were in the playoffs at 7pm. At this stage of the season, teams are broadly up there on merit. The 'annoyance' of the Wrexham result is undone. Two games, four points, promotion form maintained. Oh, and another clean sheet. Bring on Oxford. | |
