City of Culture bids 05:57 - Mar 18 with 732 views

Ipswich are one of 9 longlisted bids for the 2029 City of Culture. It reads like a list from the EFL: Blackpool, , Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Milton Keynes, Portsmouth, Sheffield, Swindon and Wrexham - plus Inverness-Highland.

Ipswich needs this, overlooked for far too long and the £10M grant to improve the town would be brilliant. Hats off to Mr Ashton and ITFC for supporting the bid and all the community work done so far.

Anything that helps improve Ipswich must be a good thing - totally agree with you that Ipswich gets consistently overlooked. Hope the town is successful with this bid.

I am behind any innovation or event that helps us or the area.

Though most of the public aren't aware it's only for a year - a lot of people think this is a permanent change. I think a lot of folks if they were fully aware would prefer the money spent on other more obvious and urgent needs.
