Thoughts on a glorious day at our rivals and in the league 22:50 - Apr 11 with 441 viewsunstableblue

Well well well.

A win up there has been a long time coming.

A double over our arch rivals even longer.

We’ve been waiting since Coventry away for a full 90mins Town performance, and maybe we’ll wait all season. Indeed we were off it in so many elements and passages of that game today. Players like Matusiwa, Mehmeti, Davis were loose and giving the ball away cheaply.

And yes we were fortunate with the penalty, but Taylor did brilliantly to create the incident, and if you compare to the ridiculous decision at Stoke away - well justice is served.

But our centre backs fought like warriors and we carved out the true chances in that game. We thoroughly deserved the win. Without really being in top gear. Norwich fans will moan. But there was only one worthy winner today, as the stats show.

McKenna is perhaps rightly criticised for not showing more flexibility in set-up and system. But he nailed it today. Allowing Norwich space in areas that weren’t going to hurt us. Keeping Nunez out of the madness, and having the judgement to take him out of it once he’d caused some mayhem having been introduced.

But just wanted to end by saying hats off to OShea and Greaves today - magnificent. And I saw enough from Philogene today to think he’s truly back! And Hirst is slowly building momentum. And that bodes well for these final games.

And with Boro imploding and Millwall tiring, this looks on. Let’s enjoy it now. Urge it home.
