I wouldn't be surprised to see a pivot towards a more pragmatic style of play. The ownership will see avoiding relegation at all costs to be the first, second, and third objectives this season. If they feel that a return to McCarthy-style tactics will be the best bet, that's what we'll get.
It'll also be interesting to see what happens if the new manager is struggling come November/December. They won't have any credit in the bank, and replacement could seem a much more attractive option than it did with McKenna last time out.
