Social Media Moratorium 08:23 - Sep 5 with 661 viewsmattyboar

Oh my days. The absolute tripe I’ve read in the immediate aftermath of last nights game is quite unbelievable. 5 at the back, GON gone by X date, X player (Greaves & Scherpen current flavours of the day) must be dropped or we’re down, 5 at the back, Emersonn to be replaced by Flemming, what does Maeda actually do, 5 at the back. It’s honestly nauseating.

I think we need a national moratorium whereby we must declare our team allegiances and are then banned from social media for at least 8 hours post game.

It won’t cure the absolutely unnecessary, and in some cases self sabotaging behaviour, from continuing but it might quell it a little.

Have we not learnt our lesson that the players and their families read these comments? Let’s start being more positive shall we, the team needs us not to fall after only 3 games. We’ve just lost to Man Utd and Liverpool, not Oldham and Tranmere.

Completely agree.

To me it's part of national decline - spoilt toddler like tantrums as soon as people don't get their own way. Everyone desperate to post themselves enjoying 'bsntz' when we win but not interested in supporting the team.

They don't even watch the game properly. Not sure they are really interested in the football!

I steer clear of this place after some defeats, last season especially, but last night felt a bit different, yes were were beaten by a top Prem side, but we didn’t flag, kept at it, fans stayed on side, ‘GON blue n white army’ going on for sometime in second half. This is the only place I visit, all the other platforms are just noise to be avoided.

I used to love coming on here after a game to talk about it but I find it just sucks the joy out of supporting Town. To be fair, it was fairly balanced on here last night but the extremely vocal minority are so tedious.

For me this entire season is one event with one aim. Every time we don't get points is disappointing but there has to be a different mindset to the promotion seasons. Some people seem to change their entire outlook based on the last 10-15 minutes or live blog the game reacting to every misplaced pass.

It's incredibly exciting. Look at our options in midfield and attack. If we can stay up then we can spend next summer on the defence and another striker. There is no other aim. Thankfully everyone inside the club knows this. Some of the fans need to get over themselves, put their egos aside and stop being so desperate to be the first one to turn so they can say I told you so if it goes wrong.

We've got a manager who knows what he's doing, dream owners, a CEO who some may not like but is very good and the best squad we've had in at least a quarter of a century. Sorry for being a happy clapper but i'm going to enjoy every minute.
