Town's U18s gained a 2-2 draw with Southampton at Playford Road on Saturday via a last-minute equaliser from Jordan Rhodes. Town's U16s lost 4-2 to the same opposition.

In a rematch of the 2005 FA Youth Cup final, Town took the lead on 20 minutes when Ian Nimmo converted his second penalty this season.

But back came the Saints in the second half with two goals from striker Jamie White, both set up by Aristoles de Carvalho.

Town grabbed a point in the second minute of injury time when striker Jordan Rhodes struck his third in as many games after returning from a broken collar bone.

Town's U16s suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Saints after going 3-0 down inside 35 minutes. Gary Preen, Tony Garrod and Kayne McLaggon struck for the visitors before two quick goals from Town's Jack Ainsley and Craig Calver put the visitors under pressure again, only for McLaggon to make sure of the win on 80 minutes with a breakaway goal.

Town U18s: Plummer, Short, Robinson (Webster), Fenn, Smith, Williams, Upson, Reason, Boto (Ainsley), Rhodes and Nimmo (Tooms).

Saints U18s: Matej Rondos, Jones, Dutton-Black, James, Lancashire, Hatch, Toti, Thomson, Paterson, White and Mills (McNish).
