Knights at Yeovil

Striker Darryl Knights is on trial with League One side Yeovil Town. The 18-year-old has spent the last fortnight with Leyton Orient.

Knights had looked set to join SPL side Falkirk during the transfer window, but the clubs couldn't agree a fee and in any case the frontman, who made one senior Town appearance as a sub at Sunderland in 2004, preferred to find a new club nearer to home.

Released academy youngster Luke Webster is also set to spend time on trial with the Glovers when he finishes his spell with Southend. Midfielder Martin Brittain is already on loan with the Somerset club until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, TWTD understands that Irish defender Michael Synnott will not be kept on at the end of the season. The 20-year-old Dubliner was given an extra year to impress at the end of his academy scholarship after missing most of last season through injury, but he has failed to win a deal.

Synnott was a member of Town's FA Youth Cup-winning side in 2005.
