Shock horror. I think I must be becoming a grumpy, old man ( I'm certainly the last part! ). Maybe it's just me. I want to make clear that what I'm going to say, isn't a comment about this actual match specifically or Colchester FC in particular

It was in 1969 that mankind had the technology to not only go the moon but walk on it. In the intervening 56 years, we've produced ( and are still producing-rapidly ) all manner of amazing technological advances. ( I can't imagine trying to explain to my late mother that she could watch a video on the phone! ). Yet here we are in 2026, and we can't it seems produce anything that keeps rain ( or at the very very least enough of it ) off a professional football clubs pitch.

I find that incredible and not in a good way. Even in the exceptionally soggy winter we're having in the UK this time.

Something needs to be done and quickly. The powers that be need to get of their lazy asses, and actually do something that would benefit the whole game in general, instead of tinkering around with things that are best left alone ( Championship play off places etc ). Rant over!
