Striker Jordan Rhodes returned home from hospital late last night after being stretchered off in the Club Colours Suffolk Premier Cup semi-final victory at Ipswich Wanderers. The 17-year-old, whose injury caused the game to be held up for 10 minutes, was given the all-clear but won't be involved for the U18s this weekend.

Town's head of sports science Dave Williams told the club site: "Jordan was taken to accident and emergency and they carried out some precautionary tests.

"He suffered slight concussion in the incident and was disorientated for a while, but he wasn't knocked unconscious.

"The hospital checked him out and gave him the all-clear to return home to rest, but he will not be playing for the U18s at the weekend."

Meanwhile, Fabian Wilnis, who has been out of action with a hamstring problem, came through the full 90 minutes against Wanderers and says he is now ready for a return to the first team: “It was a bit sore this morning, but I came through 90 minutes OK and will be fit for the weekend.

“I only started full training on Sunday, so it was nice to get 90 minutes under my belt."

Fellow defender Chris Casement missed last night's game with an ankle injury.
