Jaime Peters was in the Canada U20 side last night as their friendly with the Czech Republic in Edmonton was abandoned after 53 minutes due to heavy rain. The scoreline stood at 0-0 when lightning and thunder forced the players off the field.

After 20 minutes the storm passed but by that time there were puddles on areas of the pitch and the referee abandoned the game.

The match was Canada's last friendly prior to hosting the FIFA U20 World Cup. Peters and his team-mates start the group stage of the competition with a match against Chile on July 1st in Toronto, before games in Edmonton against Austria (July 5th) and Congo (July 8th).
