Town Looking to Avoid Extending Run
Town Looking to Avoid Extending Run

Town go into tonight's game at Sheffield United looking to avoid extending their run of away games without a win to 11 matches.

The last time the Blues failed to win more games on their travels was back in the mid-nineties when they were unable to win away between the first ever victory over Liverpool at Anfield in January 1995 and the 4-1 thrashing of Reading at Elm Park in the following October, the famous ‘Williams from the halfway line' match.

This run, however, pales into insignificance when compared to the Blues' worst ever away streak. A bleak 30-game spell without a win which spanned three seasons in the mid-sixties. The run includes Town's worst ever league away streak of 27 matches without a win.
