Defender Alex Bruce will miss Town's game at Charlton on Saturday. The Republic of Ireland international is also expected to be unavailable for the visit of Leicester City on Tuesday due to the groin injury he sustained during the 2-0 defeat to Bristol City on Tuesday.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site that a scan has shown the extent of the problem: "Alex has a muscle injury to his right abductor.

"He will certainly be out for the Charlton game and probably the match against Leicester as well.

"You are normally looking at a seven to 10-day recovery period for this type of injury."

Meanwhile, Town chairman David Sheepshanks revealed at Monday's press briefing to announce the completion of the Marcus Evans deal that he and manager Jim Magilton are looking at improving the club's scouting network.

Town particularly want to improve the set-up on the continent. The Blues cut back on their scouting staff after relegation in 2002.
