Miller Wants Third Spell With Darlington

Town defender Ian Miller says he would like to go back to Darlington for a third loan spell, despite rarely featuring for the Quakers in the first half of the season. Miller made just six starts and seven sub appearances after rejoining the League Two side in August.

The 24-year-old said: “I would come here if the opportunity is there. I have had talks with manager Dave Penney and I know that he is talking to Ipswich.

“I didn't come here to sit on the bench, but I accept that I'm still learning my trade. I have played the last two games and now I want to stay in the team.

“We have a strong squad and there is competition for places. I feel we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

“I want to come here, win promotion and play League One football. I'm desperate for that, but know that if we are to achieve it, we mustn't slip up too often.”

Miller, who also spent a month with Darlington last season, is amongst a number of Town players whose contracts are up at the season and looks unlikely to be offered a new deal at Portman Road.

The former Bury Town skipper's only appearance for the Blues came as a sub in last season's 3-0 home victory over Plymouth.
