Burnley: Charlton's Offer Only Gray Bid So Fa

Burnley have revealed that Charlton are the only club to have made a bid for striker Andy Gray. According to this morning's papers, the Blues are ready to make a cash-plus-player offer of their own.

A statement on the Clarets official site says the Addicks bid, believed to be £1.3 million, is the only offer they have so far received, although there have been several other enquiries: “Burnley Football Club has turned down a substantial seven-figure bid from Charlton Athletic for striker Andy Gray.

“Gray, who has 13 goals to his name this season, has attracted enquiries from a number of clubs during the January transfer window.

“However, Championship rivals Charlton are the only club to have made an offer, which falls well short of Burnley's valuation of the Scottish international.”

In addition to the Addicks and Town, Cardiff City are also understood to be interested in the 30-year-old frontman.

Meanwhile, Southampton have given former Town boss George Burley permission to speak to the SFA regarding the vacant Scotland manager's job.
