![]() Wednesday, 13th Feb 2008 01:45 Boss Jim Magilton hailed his players for a magnificent performance as they defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park. The Town manager had urged his team to use Saturday's defeat against Watford to spur them on. Magilton said: "We were so disappointed after Saturday and I told the players to use that and take it out on Palace, and they did. "We got our just rewards. Everybody stood up to everything they threw at us, and it was a wonderful three points.” "We defended fantastically well and limited them to very few chances. Richard Naylor and Jason De Vos stood up to their front two, but I don't want to pick out any player above any other because that would be unfair.” Goalscorer Danny Haynes was only in the side because Alan Quinn got injured in the warm-up: "I could have killed Quinny to be honest - it's a good job we won. "He turned his ankle but, and Neil Warnock was very good, he let us bring Danny on and replace him on the bench." Magilton also had words of praise for the 2,000-strong Town support: "They have not had much to celebrate on our travels so two wins on the spin now is fantastic. "To see so many of them here for a midweek game is great and they really gave the players a lift. I think the players gave the fans a lift as well. Now all we have to do is sort out our home form!" Palace boss Neil Warnock was unhappy with some of his team: "I thought one or two experienced players let us down. I was disappointed with certain areas tonight and I've let the players know. "Their goal was going for a throw-in until it hit the lad, and just before half-time it gives them a lift. But we fought hard and Clinton had two great chances."
