Town have confirmed that midfielder Liam Trotter has signed a one-year extension to his Portman Road contract. Trotter's new terms will keep him at the club until the end of June 2009.

Northern Irish defender Chris Casement is close to sealing a new deal which will also keep him with the Blues until 2009.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site that the pair have earned their new contracts: "Both boys are on the first rung of a long ladder but they have done well here and deserve to be rewarded with new contracts.

"We want to keep them hungry and positive and I see their long term futures at this football club."
