![]() Wednesday, 26th Mar 2008 08:53 Town will make a £1 million summer bid for Nottingham Forest midfielder Sammy Clingan, according to one of this morning's tabloids. Northern Ireland international Clingan is well known to Blues boss Jim Magilton, a regular TV pundit covering his country's international matches. Clingan plays in central midfield and started his career with Wolves. After two spells on loan at Chesterfield, the 5ft 11in tall set piece expert moved on to the City Ground in January 2006 having failed to make an impression at Molineux. The 24-year-old has been a regular in both the Forest and Northern Ireland side for the last couple of seasons, winning 15 senior caps. Elsewhere, the Blues and Norwich City are once again linked with loan moves for Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi. The story appears to be a rehash of weekend website stories regarding the clubs' interest in the former England U21 international.
