![]() Thursday, 15th May 2008 19:46 Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has revealed that Town target Thomas Sørensen will be leaving the Premier League club this summer. Earlier in the week, Blues boss Jim Magilton confirmed TWTD's January report naming Sørensen as his preferred keeper signing when Neil Alexander joined Rangers during the last transfer window. O'Neill has shown Sørensen the door at the end of his Villa contract and says the Danish international is keen to start playing games after a year in the wilderness: "Sørensen has got plans, so his agent was telling me, to get his career back on track again." Portman Road appears unlikely to be the 31-year-old's next destination with Magilton revealing that the keeper was less than enamoured at the suggestion of dropping down a division during the last transfer window. It is more likely he'll find another club in one of Europe's top leagues with Arsenal, Middlesbrough, Wolfsburg and another unnamed German side all linked back in January. Town could be in the market for two mew keepers this summer with Stephen Bywater and Nick Colgan looking likely to move on after a loan spell and a short-term deal respectively. Shane Supple, who has a year left on his Town contract, could also be on his way with current loan club Falkirk interested in taking him on a longer term basis. Magilton has already confirmed that ex-Town glovesman Richard Wright is again in his sights as first reported by TWTD back in March, while we also understand that Linfield's Alan Mannus is . Meanwhile, former Blue Jamie Clapham has been released by relegated Leicester City. Elsewhere, West Brom have refuted French reports which claimed that AS Nancy striker Marc-Antoine Fortune had turned down an offer of a contract from the Baggies. Town were said to have made similar overtures towards the frontman, which appear equally unlikely to be true.
