The Blues and Nottingham Forest are interested in Northampton Town keeper Mark Bunn, according to one of Sunday's tabloids. Bunn has been priced at £1 million by Cobblers' chairman David Cardoza.

According to the report, Town have turned to Bunn after Thomas Sørensen had priced himself out of a switch to Portman Road, which appears to be an incorrect reading of the situation with the released Aston Villa keeper.

Town looked at signing Sørensen on loan back in January, but are less likely to be targeting signing the Danish international on a permanent basis during the summer. The former Sunderland man is aiming for a move to a top division club either here or on the continent.

Bunn, 23, is widely tipped to be joining former manager Colin Calderwood at Nottingham Forest with Cardoza revealing earlier in the week that the newly-promoted Tricky Trees have previously made a number of unsuccessful offers: "We've certainly had more than one bid from Forest - we've probably had about six - but Mark is a terrific player.

"We have got a certain value on him and we won't be budging on that, it will certainly break the club record."

Camden-born Bunn, 6ft tall, has a big future predicted for him and recently spent time training with Manchester City.

Town appear set to sign two keepers over the summer with neither Stephen Bywater nor Nick Colgan expected to be offered deals and Shane Supple a permanent target of loan club Falkirk.

TWTD first reported that the Blues were eyeing former glovesman Richard Wright back in March, while we understand Linfield stopper Alan Mannus is also on Magilton's short-list.
