Webster Set for Southampton Exit?
Webster Set for Southampton Exit?

Former Town goalkeeper-coach Malcolm Webster has reportedly been told by Southampton that they won't prevent him from re-joining the Blues if he is offered his old job at Portman Road. Webster has been widely tipped for a return to Town since Andy Rhodes left the club last month.

Webster, who was taken to St Mary's by former boss George Burley, may be seen as surplus to requirements by new manager Jan Poortvliet, who took over from Nigel Pearson last week. The former Arsenal and Cambridge keeper left the Blues to follow Burley to Derby in 2004.

Ex-Town academy keeper James Holman, who left a coaching job with Norwich City last season, is also understood to have been interviewed for the position.
