Bolton goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi's agent Peter Harrison says the Blues are amongst a number of clubs interested in the Omani international. Al-Habsi is said to be becoming frustrated at Bolton's failure to offer him an extension to the remaining year on his current deal.

Harrison said: "Ali helped to save Bolton from relegation. He only has a year left on his contract, but we have had no offer of a new deal from Bolton.

"Galatasaray are very interested in Ali and he could sign a pre-contract with them in January - and that's a fact. West Brom and Ipswich are also interested.''

Town are known to be looking at various goalkeeping options in case their move for Richard Wright collapses for a second successive summer. Jim Magilton has given West Ham until the end of the week to progress the switch with uncertainty regarding Robert Green believed to be the main hold up.

Green wants a new deal with the Hammers, while Aston Villa and Blackburn are both reportedly interested in the England keeper.

Yesterday, Alan Curbishley's side were linked with former Blue Neil Alexander, now with Rangers in Scotland, as they look for a potential replacement for Wright if he completes his £500,000 move to Portman Road.

Al-Habsi, 26, has won 66 caps for his country and joined Bolton in 2006 from Norwegian side Lynn. Prior to that the 6ft 4 ½in tall keeper had played for Al-Nasr and Al-Midhaibi in his home country.
