![]() Saturday, 19th Jul 2008 14:26 Town target Angelos Charisteas has picked up a knee injury while training with Nuremberg in Austria. The Greek international twisted his left knee and spent several minutes on the ground receiving treatment before having the injury bandaged. Initially there were fears that the problem might be serious enough to scupper Charisteas's chances of moving on during the transfer window, however, eventually the injury was diagnosed as a ligament strain. Nuremberg sporting director Martin Bader, who would like to sell the 28-year-old this summer to raise much needed funds, was relieved that the striker won't be out of action for too long: "It is not bad.†The former Werder Bremen, Aris Salonica, Ajax and Feyenoord player is expected to be out of action for a week and will miss Austria-based friendlies with Birmingham City and Plymouth Argyle.
