![]() Tuesday, 12th Aug 2008 23:43 Billy Clarke and Matt Richards were both in goalscoring action for their loan sides in the Carling Cup on Tuesday evening. Frontman Clarke opened his account for Darlington by scoring the winner as the Quakers won 2-1 away at Walsall. The Irishman reacted quickest after he had had a shot blocked in the 67th minute to send Darlo through. Richards curled a freekick home for Brighton as they comfortably beat Barnet 4-0, all the goals coming in the first half. The goal was Richards's first for the Seagulls in any of his various loan spells at the Withdean Stadium. Elsewhere, Dan Harding was in the Southend side which exited the competition via a 1-0 defeat to Cheltenham, while former Blue Gary Roberts scored twice for his new club Huddersfield as they defeated Bradford 4-0.
