Midfielder Owen Garvan has been withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad playing Austria in a friendly this week due to an injury. However, five Town players are set to meet up with international squads this week.

Garvan was on the bench for the games against Leyton Orient and Burnley, but the club have not revealed any particular problem currently affecting the 20-year-old.

Central defender Alex Bruce is meeting up with the full Irish squad for their friendly with Norway in Oslo on Wednesday. Bruce has previously won one senior cap.

Midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski is due to meet up with the Macedonian squad on Monday ahead of their Wednesday friendly in Luxembourg. The 27-old has won 48 full caps and has scored one goal.

Defenders Gareth McAuley and Chris Casement are both in Northern Ireland parties. McAuley is in the full squad which takes on Scotland in a friendly at Hampden Park on Wednesday, while Casement is in the U21s who are playing a competition in Ukraine from Monday until Thursday and a European U21 Championship qualifier in Germany on September 5th.

Casement has won eight U21 caps, while McAuley has played for the senior side on 10 occasions.

Academy striker Paul Murphy is in the Republic of Ireland U19 squad hosting a four-team international tournament this week.

The Irish youngsters take on Portugal, Spain and Ukraine in games played at Athlone, Longford and Tullamore.

It's the first time Murphy, who was named Player of the Tournament and won the Golden Boot at the recent Northern Ireland Milk Cup, has been called up at U19 level.

Ireland start with a game against Portugal at Flancare Park, Longford on Monday, with a match against Ukraine at Leah Victoria Park, Tullamore on Tuesday before their final game against the Spanish at Lissywoollen, Athlone on Thursday.
