![]() Saturday, 30th Aug 2008 23:10 Town's U18s started their home league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bolton at Playford Road on Saturday morning. The young Blues were without young striker Connor Wickham (bruised ribs) and midfielder David Cawley, but they started well and Jack Ainsleyʼs looping header struck the bar before Billy Clark saw his shot pushed onto the woodwork by Jay Lynch. Paul Murphy gave Town a deserved lead after nine minutes when he curled a freekick into the top corner from 25 yards after a Bolton player had been penalised for handball. It didn't take long for the visitors to equalise, Taylor Campbell netting on 17, when he chased a long ball and charged Lewis Wardʼs clearance down before tapping into an empty net. Town: Ward, Clemo, Dunbar, Hyam, Watson, Eastman, Daniels, Clark, Ainsley, Murray and Murphy. Unused: Meekings, Stensrud, Griffiths, Brandon and Capocci.
