Jim: John Left a Lasting Impression

Boss Jim Magilton says new assistant manager John Gorman left a "lasting impression” on him in his previously spell at the club during the 1998/99 season. Magilton was a player in George Burley's team at the time.

Magilton said: "John has done it all, and I wanted him at the club. He has a wealth of knowledge about the game and has worked as manager and coach at every level, including England.

"When I was a player at Ipswich I witnessed first hand his enthusiasm for the game and the motivational and coaching skills he possesses.

"He left a lasting impression when he was working with George Burley and I am delighted to have him on board.”

Gorman will be on the Town bench for the first time when the Blues take on Chesterfield in the FA Cup on Saturday.
