Midfielder Tommy Miller could be available for Saturday's home game against Sheffield Wednesday despite suffering a dead leg in the first half of Town's 3-0 FA Cup victory over Chesterfield on Saturday.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Tommy had a significant dead leg and had some swelling in his thigh area.

"He didn't make much progress in the first 48 hours but we are moving forward now. He's been doing some deep water running and has been on the bike and is responding to treatment.

"He should be jogging on Thursday and then it will be a case of reviewing his situation on Friday with a view to seeing how he is with the weekend in mind."

Meanwhile, Hermann Hreidarsson's agent Olafur Gardarsson has reiterated that his player is definitely on his way out of Portsmouth during the transfer window: "I expect Hermann to leave Portsmouth in this transfer window.

"He has six months left on his contract and I don't think he will be signing a new deal.

"At the moment he has a couple of options available to him as there are some Premier League and Championship clubs interested in him. We hope to make a decision on Hermann's future by next week."

Town were first linked with a return to Town in November with various clubs including Charlton, West Brom, Rangers and Reading also mentioned in connection with the 35-year-old Icelander. Boss Jim Magilton subsequently said that he could be interested in signing his former team-mate.

Elsewhere, 1978 FA Cup final star David Geddis has been interviewed for the job of manager of Eircom League side Cork City.
