Sbragia Expects Keane to Return for Sunderland Players

Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia says he expects to have new Town manager Roy Keane on the phone making enquiries regarding his players.

Yesterday morning, before Keane's appointment had even been confirmed, the press were speculating that the new Blues boss could move for Sunderland youngster Jordan Henderson, while former Town trialist Daryl Murphy, Roy O'Donovan, David Healy and Nyron Nosworthy are all listed as possible targets in the North-East media today.

Sbragia concedes that it'll be no surprise if Keane comes calling: "He'll have to go in and assess the players. He'll get videos on Ipswich and then make decisions.

"But I would expect him to be on the phone for a couple of my players, yes.”

Meanwhile, full-back David Wright says he's sad to see Jim Magilton leave the club: "I am disappointed to see the manager go.

"He brought me to the club and showed faith in my ability and I have a lot of respect for the boss.

"But we have not reached our target this year, which was the play-offs at least. That has been disappointing and Marcus Evans has made his decision.

"Roy Keane will have a chance to look at the players in the squad and we will get an idea of how he wants to play his football, looking ahead to next season."

Off the field, Town are expected to announce an extension of the early bird season ticket pricing later today in the wake of Keane's appointment.
