![]() Sunday, 7th Jun 2009 22:27 Academy striker Ronan Murray and the Republic of Ireland U19s bowed out of the European Championships at the elite qualifying group stage after being thrashed 6-1 by Switzerland in Belgium earlier today. The Irish youngsters needed at least a point against the Swiss to stand a chance of progressing to the finals being held in Ukraine in July. Murray won his fourth U19 cap, coming on as a 78th minute sub. Ireland face Sweden in their final group game on Wednesday. Meanwhile, former Town coach John Gorman is reported to be joining Jim Magilton and QPR in a similar role, as predicted by TWTD on Wednesday.
