![]() Thursday, 7th Jun 2001 12:30 As reported in a number of places yesterday George Burley was in Copenhagen last night to watch Denmark beat Malta 2-1. It seems his target was neither Marc Nygaard or Martin Jorgensen who have been widely linked recently. Chief Scout Colin Suggett and European Scout Romeo Zondervan are also thought to have been in attendance. Burley has already dismissed any interest in Nygaard while Jorgensen is out of Town's range at £10 million. The Town target seems to be Jon Dahl Tomasson, the attacking midfielder currently playing for Feyenoord. Tomasson, 24, is best remembered in England for his woeful spell at Newcastle where he scored just three goals in 23 games. Since joining Feyenoord, however, he has been scoring goals galore, last season netting 15 times in 31 matches. He has also never had any trouble finding the net when playing for Denmark. He has one year left on his contract and was reported to have been embroiled in a pay dispute with his club at the turn of the year. Hamburg and Hertha Berlin are also thought to be interested in the player. Meanwhile there is nothing new on the lower division player George Burley recently made a bid for. The player is thought to be from the Third Division and is a promising young midfielder. Today's Do You Remember? man is David Hill. What do you recall of the Duncan era player still doing the business in Ireland? Click the link on the Message Board: http://www.twtd.co.uk
