![]() Tuesday, 21st Jul 2009 12:41 Town midfielder Alan Quinn is set to join Barnsley for £200,000, according to one of this morning's tabloids. TWTD first reported the Tykes' interest in the Irish midfielder a fortnight ago. Rumours that Quinn was being targeted by the South Yorkshire club were widespread amongst their support and subsequently the Tykes were reported to have made a £150,000 offer for the ex-Sheffield United and Wednesday man. This is likely to have been one of the bids Roy Keane recently revealed had been turned down and would be little surprise if a further offer has been made in the last few days with Quinn an unused sub at Cork on Sunday, having been omitted from the side which played Brentford last week due to a reported minor ankle injury. Quinn, 30, joined the Blues from Sheffield United in January 2008 for a fee understood to be around the £300,000 mark.
