George Burley has admitted that Andy Marshall is one of the keepers he is looking at and that he and keeper coach Malcolm Webster know him well. The Town boss also admitted that he had watched other keepers, but Marshall looks the front-runner.

The Town boss said: "I have received reports on many keepers over a period of time, both from here in England and abroad. I know Andy Marshall well. Our goalkeeping coach, Malcolm Webster, has worked with him for a number of years. He is a quality keeper and one of a number we're looking at. Andy was one of the best young keepers in the country."

Marshall is currently away on his honeymoon and so no deal is likely to take place until he returns, or indeed until the Richard Wright deal is completed.

Other names being mentioned are Matt Clarke and Ian Bennett. Clarke is unsettled at Bradford, while the Birmingham press has Bennett as a Town target. We understand, however, that it is Marshall most likely to be Town's new keeper.

Two Town old boys are on the move this week with Frans Thijssen out of a job and Chris Swailes moving up a division.

Thijssen has left Fortuna Sittard who he helped avoid relegation. He cited a lack of ambition on their part.

Meanwhile Chris Swailes has moved from Bury to Rotherham. The fee is reported to be around the £100,000 mark.
