Reading Linked With Rhodes
Reading Linked With Rhodes
Monday, 16th Nov 2009 08:52

Championship Reading are interested in signing former Town striker Jordan Rhodes from Huddersfield, according to a tabloid report this morning. Rhodes has scored 13 goals since joining the Terriers in the summer.

The report claims the Royals will offer £600,000 for Rhodes, which it wrongly claims is double the fee Huddersfield paid the Blues for the 19-year-old.

The Yorkshire club actually paid an initial £850,000 for Rhodes with various top-ups based on appearances and a sell-on also involved in the deal.

Dobbie, I do not want town to lose, ever, as I said later on in the thread.

Yu say that we are moving in the right direction albeit slowly I dont think we are.

Drawing with the teams we have done (bottom half teams) I think is not moving forward and as good as a loss!

We need wins and wins only to get up the table.

However having said that if someone wa to offer me a 0-1 loss on saturday and Keane to get the sack I WOULD take it, in an instant.

Rockstar note to you, stop with the gay notes on here!

I have been a season ticket holder for 35 years and supported the team thro thick & thin. I have never once wanted the team to lose.Thats why it grieves me to see our great team being systematically torn apart. Granted Jim didn't do us much good but we are much worse now despite all the millions spent ( mis-spent) on new players

Why report on this? Huddersfield have said they're not selling him for any money, etc. etc. etc. Time to move on yet?

Callumgarryskeemer, every time you litter this site with your pointless droll you do so for attention.
You contradict yourself, wish badly on the team and manager and generally piss off the majority of fans who use this website to express opinions and concerns.
You are clearly an idiot.
Expressing opinions is one thing, wishing your team to lose is another. What gives you the right to undermine Ipswich like you do?
As dobbie stated ITFC is moving in the right direction, yet you want us to sack our manager at a crucial point of the season and realistically guarantee relegation?
Part of supporting a football team is following them through the highs and lows and if you can't handle our current situation i suggest you take your support elsewhere and go and follow some1 like Chelsea and no doubt come crawling back when we hit the big time again.
As someone stated the other week you are turning this site into an episode of loose women so why don't you grow up and stop writing comments just to get a reaction.

Posted by dobbie - "Do you really think so, Lilian? So what happens in the few weeks without a manager (under a 'caretaker'), when the team is in turmoil and we fail to get many points at all?"

The team is already in turmoil - haven't you noticed? Oh no, sorry, you havent - you are blinded by your Roy keane blinkers. We will fail to get many points anyway - we always will with Keane at the helm. And as for a caretaker manager - why not? Hong Kong Fuey comes to mind - he'd certainly make a better job of it.

Unbeaten runs are pretty meaningless and empty when, apart from one result, they are nothing but draws. It's possible to go on a long unbeaten run and not score any goals (0:0's) - but that's the object of the game isn't it - to score goals?

Oh, I hope we beat Sheffield Wendy on Saturday as they are my old man's team and he is giving me nothing but grief. I know we won't though - not a cat in hell's chance, so when we do lose on Saturday I hope that is the straw that breaks Keane back and he does one or ME gives him the boot before any more damage can be done to this club.

@UEFA81 "The team is already in turmoil - haven't you noticed? Oh no, sorry, you havent - you are blinded by your Roy keane blinkers"

Not at all - I have said before that I have no personal loyalty to Keano at all and in fact I couldn't stand him as a player. And there may come a time when I feel it is time for him to go. But at the moment he is contracted as team manager of ITFC, he is in the middle of a major reshaping and rebuilding programme, and as such I will support him until I feel he has completely lost the plot! Yes it has been a poor start to the season, yes it is disappointing, and we all want and expect better ..... but as better people than me have said, it is a marathon and not a sprint. There are clubs that sack managers willy nilly if they don't win for a few games, and most of those clubs suffer as a result. While there may be a brief honeymoon period where a few good results happen when a new man comes in, then the inevitable rebuild starts - would you prefer that we have several rebuilds in a season when a manager is sacked every few weeks or months? Because that is the Charlton/Leeds/Norwich/Southampton route! Too many changes of manager = no stability, no continuity, no future. Constant rebuilding and changes in focus, personnel, and ideas. At the moment I trust Keano to find his path and shape the team in his image - while he has signed some dross, he has also signed 3 of the best players in this division IMHO in Edwards, Rosenior and Leadbitter. We have Civelli and Norris about to return. He has fired new life and determination into Pablo and Priskin is gettng more pitch time and will soon be settled. The back line is starting to gel and keep meaner scorelines .... things ARE improving! When it all clicks then we will be a force to be reckoned with, have no doubt of that.

Anyway let's face it .... you and your band of Keane haters were calling for him to go in September for Christ's sake!

Just a question .... if someone like Curbishley (who I guess would be your preferred choice) had had a start to this season with the club, would you be as vociferous against him? Or is it a personal vendetta against Keano?

So CGS You hope Rhodes goes to Reading and bangs loads of goals for them, don't you see though that Reading are down there with us and if Rhodes does bang loads of goals in for them they will be winning games and putting us in an even worse position. I think you actually do want us to go down. Who do you REALLY support Naaarwich? , Sheff Utd?. KNOB!!!!

UEFA 81 Have some faith geezer, I have been reading these posts for months now and I've never read one positive post from you or CGS. You have a right to your opinions but reading the same drivel every day just p!$$es me off. I'm sure the night we won the UEFA Cup (which you've named yourself after) you probably moaned that we lost 4-2 on the night. LIGHTEN UP.

Would love to have Jordan back if there was even the slightest chance. Dont think its ever likely though as I cant see the club ever going back on their decision. And maybe Jordan wouldnt come back anyway if he felt he wasnt treated very well.

It makes me laugh to see how many people on here always go on about "how were getting there"and " weve only lost 2 out of the last 10" fact is, weve only won 1 game this season!. It should take this long for him to know who his first team should be week in week out. Other than injuries.

Now im as big a town fan as anyone. But big changes are needed.. otherwise the club will go downhill very quickly.

As for the Rhodes link.. I hope he does go to Reading.. It wasn't his fault that we didn't play him. Just a clueless managers lack of skills.
