Colback Pleased to Be Staying at Town
Colback Pleased to Be Staying at Town

Midfielder Jack Colback says he’s happy to be remaining with the Blues rather than returning to his parent club Sunderland. Earlier this week, Black Cats boss Steve Bruce said he had no intention of recalling the 20-year-old from his loan until the end of the season, despite having a number of injuries at present.

Colback told the club site: "I think Steve Bruce has said that I will benefit more from staying here than going back to Sunderland, and that's fine with me.

"I would only have been cover there and would have offered a short-term solution. I wouldn't have been in the team.

"So, as the manager said, it's better for my development to remain with Ipswich and be involved with the first team every week.

"I've felt that from the start and I want to see out the season here and help Ipswich finish as high up the table as possible."

Colback as made 17 starts and eight sub appearances for the Blues this season, scoring four goals.

Completely agree been a great loan signing, but he needs to play better than he did the other night. I know he was out of position at left back, but even when he moved into Midfield later in the game he looked off the pace, and had some poor touches. Must do better!

he's been a breath of fresh air and hopefully will stay beyond this season. Playing at lb isnt making best use of his skills so i hope Keane but him back in the central midfield.

agree with OakingtonBlue...but i would have garvan in there starting instead of norris, norris seemed off the pace a bit on tuesday and garvan played well, dunno why that blind manager of ours took him off.

Let's see, Leadbitter almost ever present scored 2 goals we've won 5 games he takes all the corners and freekicks, it looks like your opinion of him is nearly as high as his own. Norris is just wretched, was before he was injured and is worse now. I'd even have Quinn in place of either of them!

had his moments, but been quite quiet since christmas.

Mainly due to be out of position in a left wing or left back role, when he clearly belongs in the centre.

At the end of the day we have to go and have a go, we're going to concede that's a given, so we have to score more than them. Throw 3 up front and have a real go at them. This game is going to be won with the 2 cetre backs and our forward line, if we sit back in midfield and try and pass the ball (Say what you want about magilton, but we always had a nice passing game) we will lose.

This team plays like roy keane, scrappy, no cohesion, and score the odd scrappy goal. What happened to our elegance. I was and still am on the roy train but if we lose on Saturday I am really not going to enjoy my last game (moving to Australia) on the 27th.

Please fellas, don't get relegated and play out your skins for the fans, the club and their own pride.

As Jean Claude Van Dammes best film says "NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER"

He's actually scored 3 goals !! And set up numerous, he is the only class act on the park and the fact that you think Quinn is better than either than them just shows your out of touch with football, Quinn should just retire to be honest.

Murphy

I would have three in the centre mid with Leadbitter just in front of back four allowing Norris and Garvan to get forward and hurt opposition ,and Walters and Colback adding more width to help Murphy .

And is it a coincidence that David Wright has started 5 out of 6 clean sheets this season ?
