Town Linked With Yeovil Defender
Town Linked With Yeovil Defender

The Blues, Reading and Sheffield United are reported to be keeping an eye on Yeovil Town left-back Nathan Smith. The 23-year-old is out of contract this summer, having done well with the Glovers since signing from non-league Potters Bar Town in March 2008.

The 6ft tall left-back is understood to have been offered new terms at Huish Park but is likely to move on if clubs at a higher level firm up their interest.

Previously with Enfield and Waltham Forest, Newcastle-born Smith has made 66 starts and 10 sub appearances with Yeovil, scoring one goal. Prior to winning his professional deal, the attack-minded, pacey full-back worked in IT.

A left-back is very much on Roy Keane’s summer wish-list to compete with Shane O’Connor, Ben Thatcher having left the club midway through the season and David Wright set to leave when his contract is up at the end of June.

Keane has also said that a couple of out-of-contract players are amongst the “four or five” signings he is targeting.

No problem with us looking outside the Premier League for players. Lower levels have some good players. But I agree we need experience and this guy surely isn't - but on a free ... worth a punt?

If anyone cares, interesting thing about Bogdanovic - not only a good signing, but a Maltese national of Serbian descent, born in Libya. That is all.

Dalty - Spot on with your comments. Always happy to see us linked with promising players from the lower leagues, and given that this chap would be available for a tribunal fee, I think he could well be worth a look.

On another note, I see Colback got sent off today. As bad as I feel for him, could that mean we have a chance of getting him back here next year?

I thought Bruce was excellent today in the play off semi for leicester, fantastic tackle just before the end to prevent the blues going 2 down. Bring him back as he can play at full back, still young and learning I know but good material.

Money is a problem unfortunatly so its a tad difficult to get to any games at the moment. Havn't been since PLymouth 2 years ago ,and havn't been to Suffolk since 1st game of 2007-08 season stuffing Wednesday 4-1!

Will make a point of being in the mighty bowlplex next season and calling out 'DANKNOTT'!
