Sunderland Keeper Move Near to Collapse?

Town’s move for Sunderland keeper Márton Fülöp is close to collapse, according to reports on Wearside. The clubs have agreed a fee understood to be in the region of £1 million, but the Hungarian international has so far failed to agree personal terms with the Blues.

Town are reported to have initially wanted a loan deal before agreeing to a permanent move for the ex-Spurs keeper. The player is said to have held personal talks but has been unable to agree a contract at Portman Road.

Sunderland are believed to have told Town to get the deal done quickly as there are other clubs interested in signing the 27-year-old.

Newly-promoted La Liga club Hercules are also understood to be chasing Fülöp, along with two unnamed Premier League sides, Anderlecht and Olympiakos. Fülöp, who played for Roy Keane at Sunderland, is likely to prefer a move to the Blues as he would have a greater chance of playing regular first team football for a Championship side.

Fulup is an impressive keeper. As long as other positions of priority are filled, I think it would be a good signing. Getting anxious now, the start is only 10 days away!!
