Jones Refuses to Comment on McCormack Future

Cardiff boss Dave Jones refused to comment on striker Ross McCormack’s future after Bluebirds’ 4-1 extra-time Carling Cup victory over Burton Albion last night. Town target McCormack scored twice before handing his shirt to a supporter at the end of the match, something which has been interpreted as a farewell by Cardiff fans.

Jones says he doesn’t speak about deals until they are done and dusted: “I’ll talk about players when things are rubber-stamped and not before. While they’re here they are Cardiff City players.”

The Blues and Bluebirds are understood to be discussing a swap involving McCormack and Jon Stead with a double loan deal now reported to be amongst the options.

Town turned their attentions to McCormack having failed to land team-mate Michael Chopra.

What a mouth watering prospect this one is; McCormack - Scotland - Wickham - (even Priskin) We have an awesome mid-field and a decent back line, with a top drawer keeper!!! If this deal and the Scotland one comes off we must surely be confident of doing well this term..... COYB's! - Keano is coming good me thinks!

When managers refuse to comment on it there usually is something imminent, you find that if players are staying at a club the manager usually makes a statement to the effect. I hope this does happen, great player at this level.

Hopefully we get McCormack and Scotland and, yes BloooCD, I'm starting to have faith in Priskin too, a nice ball to the Hungary Striker last night which should have been a goal.

Cant see a deal being close for McCormack yet considering he played last night for Cardiff and scored twice.

Hope we pull it off as I really want to see McCormack in a Town shirt, just trying not to get my hopes up on this one, sorry to be sceptical!

That'll be McCormack cup tied then! Not a major issue with the 'Kids' playing in the Lge Cup under Keano.

Hope this does happen as it's a step in the right direction, a top player and one capable of stepping up to the Prem with Town.

Interesting one! I have just heard back from a mate who is a Cardiff fan who went to the game last night, he got the feeling that McCormack was saying goodbye to the Cardiff fans last night by spending a bit of time with them and giving away all his gear-might be something of nothing but that was the feeling he got.

Ok I might be getting my hopes up again now!

I thought that Jones said he had accepted a bid for Mark Kennedy and it was up to Kennedy but he expected Kennedy to sign.

That wasn't keeping your mouth shut was it?

Hope we get him, he would bang them in alongside Wickham and Scotland, that would be the best strikeforce in the league.
